Bogotá D.C, Colombia. Embassy and Ambassador’s residence
The Embassy of Sweden's chancery in Bogotá has views in four directions, with glazed offices and a central meeting room. The Embassy is located in the northern part of the city.
The Embassy of Sweden has occupied premises on Calle 72 in Bogotá since 1973, with the Swedish State purchasing this part of the property for the Embassy in 1983. In early 2002, there was a review of how better to meet the Embassy's office requirements. At that time, the Ambassador was also accredited in Venezuela, Panama and Ecuador, so the Embassy in Bogotá was required to serve the whole region. In March 2003, the new premises on levels 8 and 9 in the Embassy building were opened. The chancery has views in four directions, with glazed offices and a central meeting room. The Embassy is located in the northern part of the city.
The new offices make efficient use of every square metre. Both the layout and the décor reflect an open, Swedish character dominated by simple, solid materials.
