The Ambassador's Residence in Nairobi , Kenya

Kenya became independent in 1963, but the Swedish State had already set up a Consulate General in 1962, and acquired an attractive and impressive residence for the head of the Swedish legation. The previous owner was Baron Uno Åkerhielm, Sweden's Honorary Consul General.

Large property near coffee plantation

Covering around 26,000 square metres, the property is located in the residential and coffee plantation area of Rosslyn, around five kilometres from the centre of Nairobi. The Ambassador's residence is a white-rendered villa over two floors, with a shingled roof in local wood. Staff housing, a garage, pool and storage buildings complete the property. Planted with tropical flowers and trees, the large grounds are very attractive. The north side of the plot slopes all the way down to the Karuna River.
