Art and culture
Sweden has a many museums and theatres. It is the National Property Board's responsibility to make sure that they are properly preserved and maintained.
Managing our cultural heritage
Our work includes ventilation, electricity, heating, water, sanitation, security and environmental issues. We also have specialists in particular areas for specific renovations and reconstructions.
Moisture-sensitive musical instruments, valuable artwork and historical objects all need to be carefully looked after.
Museums and theatres are also workplaces for people in different artistic fields. We try to make their working environment as good as possible.
National Museum of World Culture
One of our recent major events is the new Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg. SFV was in charge of planning and managing the project. An international competition involving architects from 26 countries eventually led to the winning proposal "Ice Cube" by the young architectural partnership of Cècile Brisac and Edgar Gonzalez.
Other museums built by SFV in recent years are the Naval Museum in Karlskrona, the Modern Museum and the Swedish Museum of Architecture in Stockholm.
